-ABOUT US-

Air Nootka Ltd. was incorporated in 1981. Our home base is in Gold River, a beautiful little town on the West Coast of British Columbia. We are currently running a Cessna 185 and a De Havilland Beaver that are meticulously maintained and inspected. Our aircraft are all attended to, with the highest standards, by Sealand Aviation in Campbell River. Sealand Aviation has been in business since 1981, as well.

We have real time tracking in our aircrafts so we always know the position, altitude, speed and where they are heading. Air Nootka is a proud member of the Floatplane Operators Association (FOA). We have Regular meetings and a campaign for best practices in levels of safety.

Our pilots both have extensive flying experience and we take pride in providing the best service on Vancouver Island's West Coast.

         Doug Kilian- Maintanance Manager/Pilot
Doug's love of flying and airplanes started early. While living and working up North he earned his private pilot's license in his early twenties. However, it wasn't until years, several occupations and adventures later, that he began flying as a career. He, also, finished a diploma in civil and structural engineering from BCIT. In 2002, Doug returned to flying and got his commercial license. He flew in Manitoba for two seasons and has flown on Vancouver Island ever since. He has done the C.O.L.T program through Strathcona Lodge and with that has done guiding work. He has flown for Air Nootka since 2003 as an employee. In 2014 he joined the team as an owner, with his wife, Cindy, and long time owners Ron and Carole Sine. Doug and Cindy have two grown children and live in, both, Gold River and the Comox Valley.
